How to get the most out of Exhibitslist

Social Media For The Exhibits Industry!

Unlike the trade show floor, Exhibitslist is always open for business.  What are ways that you can get the most out of it?  Here are a few:

[more after the break]

Promote yourself!

Exhibitslist is a great place to promote yourself. Especially if you are a service company.  Put your company up in the "Installers pool."  In time, of course, we are going to aggregate the information into regions.  Make sure to put in your email, phone number and website.  People will click right through to your site.  Fascinatingly,  Exhibitslist is optimized for use on mobile phones like the Iphone.  If you put your number in, people can hit your number and the Iphone will connect them to you for more business.

Use the classifieds

Do you have some equipment or an old exhibit that could be used by someone else?  Are you looking to hire someone?  Are you looking for a job in the industry?  Go to create content and post up your classified?  There is no fee for any of it and you can get creative with your postings and pictures.  If you are looking to get hired put in a picture of you at your desk or setting up an exhibit.  You will get noticed!

Contribute to the forums

Ask a question on the forum.  Then watch the responses to your question.  Follow up on what people say with your own comments on their responses.  We can all learn from each other.  What if there is a question in the forums?  We all love to share our opinions.  Lets do it!  When you comment,  put in your website.   If people like your answer, they will look at your website.  Try to be thoughtful and creative in your answers,  we all want to learn from each other.  Be careful about just promoting yourself, people can seem to sense when you are doing that,  and they may just tune you out.

Comment on articles

In the same way that you participate in the forums, comment on any article.  you likely can say something better than what is written in the article.  At the end of each article there are some questions to get you commenting. To comment on the article, Click on the Title and a commenting box will appear at the bottom. Share your opinion and put in your website.

Recommend Others

We are looking to have installers recommended.  With the economy in trouble, we all need a boost.  Why not tell us a great story about the outstanding leader in Exhibit Service in our industry.  Post it in "recommended Installers"  In time we will break that down by region so the whole world can see who is top notch.  Do you have a company or service that you love?  Let people know their value by mentioning them and their contact in the forums.  Choose an appropriate forum and then let people know, allow them to respond if they like the service or what service they recommend.  It will help all of us.  For example:  "We love XYZ company, do you like them?  Do you recommend anyone else in this field?"

Contribute

Do you have a great story to share?  Did you just build a booth that everyone in the community will be envious of?  Let us know and we will consider posting it up in our feature section for the whole world to see. Contact info@exhibitslist.com

The Goal of Exhibitslist is "Collective Intelligence" which comes from user generated Content.  You the user create the content and with your content you bring intelligence and business opportunities to all of us.

Is there any other way that people can benefit from this site that we did not think of?  Let the community know some good ways to use social networking sites!
